There’s always something magical when you encounter a Juvenile Red Fox, especially one you knew when it was just a little kit. This was no exception, as this wonderful Fox is slowly making the transition to adulthood. The interactions are now more aggressive between siblings. They’re approaching the time of year where play will become less important than finding and defending a territory to feed on for winter.
This time of year light diminishes fairly quickly in late afternoon. Surrounded by trees it became harder and harder to find a patch of sunlight. I photographed this Fox at 800 ISO using a Nikon D300s with a Nikkor 300mm lens providing plenty of light and quick accurate focus for this time of day.
